After a period of discord, dissolution, or collapse, we need to make time for integration. Integration allows for us to catch up with our feelings, to actually understand why we have experienced the things we did, and to make room for these new observations on the shelves of our heart. That is exactly what this week is all about—integration after Mercury’s retrograde in Pisces, aka the messiest retrograde I’ve ever had this displeasure of experiencing.
Monday starts us off strong, as a square between the Moon and Mars encourages us to work through emotional blocks. The Moon will sextile Uranus, planet of invention, and later rest conjunct Venus, planet of love and money. This will be a day of re-envisioning our needs around finances, art, futurity, and we will be spurred to action by the day’s astrology.
Tuesday brings us the third and final contact between Mercury and Neptune, as well as a triple conjunction between the Moon, Mercury, and Neptune, reminding us of how we felt during retrograde. This will be a day of confusion and merging, but this will be a time to allow for that integration I mentioned earlier. On February 18th, Mercury met up with Neptune for the first time, setting the stage for our eventual retrograde experience. March 24th brought us our second contact between the two planets, as Mercury backed his way into Neptune’s territory during retrograde. Now that the planet is direct, Mercury will brush past Neptune for a third time on Tuesday the 2nd.
This is our moment of integration, my friends. This is the opportunity we have to think back on major themes that came up for us during Mercury retrograde, and find a way to make peace with, or just understand them, so that we can move forward. Specifically, events, problems, conversations and the like from March 22nd-23rd will be up for re-evaluation, so keep your wits about you.
Wednesday will encourage us to grow, but it will be a growth through power struggle, as the Moon forms an energetic sextile to Pluto, planet of revolution. This is a call to action, a request that we do away with the status quo. Tearing down the tower for the sake of growth is Pluto’s favorite thing to do. Make sure your foundation is solid before you proceed.
Friday brings us a New Moon in Aries! Stationing “new” at 15° Aries, this new moon will be indicative of a fresh start for us all, specifically around our relationship to power, the establishment, and finding new ways to forge ahead. With the Moon conjunct the Sun on this day (as is the case for all New Moons) our emotions and ego will find temporary alignment, so try to use this energy to ask yourself important questions about your needs, and the path ahead. The Moon will square Saturn and Pluto, indicating that we are being forced to contend with old iterations of power on both a personal and collective level. We may feel like there is nowhere to turn, but sometimes the only way out is through. The Moon’s trine to Jupiter supports us in our efforts to amplify our own power, and to find optimism amidst the rubble.
New Moons are always a time of “planting seeds.” They initiate a cycle that will culminate in six months time, in this case, the Full Moon in Aries in October 2019 will be the moment of manifestation for the projects or intentions you set this April. Keep an eye on your dreams, your dream-plans, and move toward steps that take you further down the path. The symbolism of a New Moon in Aries is the idea of a fresh start around our identity, our will, as Aries is the first sign and rules the first house of ego, identity formation, and personal power. A new you will bloom in time. Plant the seed, sweet readers, and wait.
The weekend’s astrology invites us to find new and inventive ways to express ourselves, as the Moon conjuncts Uranus on Saturday. On Sunday, Mercury will strike a sextile to Saturn, giving us intellectual focus, and pushing us toward self-mastery. The Moon sextiles Venus and Neptune, both in Pisces, bringing a charming energy, as well as a sense of fertility, healing, and artistic playfulness to the table. A gorgeous day for any kind of art practice, indeed. The Moon will also trine Saturn and the Sun, encouraging us to find harmony between the head and the heart, and letting us find some stability in the process.
