Today the Moon enters Gemini, the mutable air sign of the zodiac. Symbolized by the twins, Gemini is a sign that understands the true power of each thing containing its opposite. Gemini gets a tough reputation for being flighty, indecisive, and distracted. And while this isn’t completely inaccurate, it’s only a superficial read of the sign. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the god of language, communication, travel, inspiration. Mercury is the only god who moves effortlessly between dayworld and underworld. As the psychopomp, he guides us to dream, another kind of underworld. With Gemini we gain access to Mercury. Gemini understands dayworld and underworld, dark and light, hot and cold, and so on.

With the Moon in Gemini for the next few days, find ways to engage with what you love, and then find love for its opposite. Acknowledge that all things contain traces of their opposite. Our intellects will be empowered. Find an outlet for your fears, ideas, wishes in exercises around language, writing, singing, speaking aloud.

Today the conjunction between Mars and Uranus comes exact at the 29th degree. This is a rare conjunction, my dears, and one that needs to be handled with great care. Tempers are heated, confrontation may be unavoidable. The 29th degree of any sign is one of transition, of leaving. Mars will leave fiery Aries and enter Taurus tomorrow, and we are experiencing a change in the way we process our anger, both personal and collective. Mind your boundaries, and protect your heart.

In the afternoon we’ll see the Moon square Mercury. This aspect brings a bit of tension to our ability to speak our feelings effectively. If you need to have an important conversation, make sure you have your facts straight first. Make sure you’re clear on your goals and aims, and be mindful that what people say to you may not entirely come from a place of alignment. It’s a tough day, my dears. I’m sending you a hug.
